Florida decided five months was enough for Erik Murphy. Gators coach Billy Donovan announced Thursday that the junior forward has been reinstated to the men’s hoops team.

“Erik Murphy has served his punishment,” Florida coach Billy Donovan said in a statement. “We’re all disappointed with what transpired, but there’s no question Erik has learned a great deal through the whole process and understands what a great opportunity and privilege it is to play college basketball.”

Murphy and teammate Cody Larson has been suspended since April 12, just days after they were arrested and charged with allegedly breaking into a car outside a bar. Murphy eventually pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal trespass and paid $440 in restitution and performed 50 hours of community service.

Larson remains suspended until he completes his legal process.

Now, what about those embarrassing tapes?
