Texas A&M -- yes, A&M -- had a killer recruiting weekend

Mark Turgeon left Texas A&M for Maryland and the fertile Baltimore-DC recruiting area. No matter. Billy Kennedy may very well turn College Station into a college hoops destination.

The Aggies’ new coach had himself a killer recruiting weekend, snagging commitments from a pair of 4-star recruits in J-Mychal Reese and Kendrick Nunn. Perhaps most impressive? Reese is a local prospect, but Nunn’s a Chicago kid. That’s some smooth-talking from Kennedy.

“They are ready to win and they are going to continue to win,” Nunn’s father, Melvin, told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “They got a vision and we want to be part of that vision in 2013.”

It’s also telling that Reese (6-1) and Nunn (6-2) are both listed as point guards. Reese is a year older, which will certainly play a part in getting them both on the court at the same time. (It also helps that Reese has a scorer’s mentality.)

I’m sure Kennedy will find a way, though. His teams at Murray State were usually a little undersized and often featured multiple guards who were around 6-feet tall. If they can play, may as well have them on the court at the same time.

Not sure Big 12 opponents will like it that well.
