The nation’s new No. 1 recruit for 2012 is making plans for his fall recruiting visits. Shabazz Muhammad has quite the list, too.
UCLA, Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Memphis and UNLV (he’s a Las Vegas product), among others. He won’t make official visits to all of them, but does have one at the top of his list.

But … before you pencil yet another top-rated recruit on John Calipari’s list, Muhammad cautions that it’s mostly because his good friend, Michael Gilchrist, is headed there this fall and the Wildcats’ recent history made an impression.
“But they’re not the leader at all. I’m wide open,” he told the Lexington Herald-Leader.
