Missouri adds another transfer in Auburn’s Ross

Missouri landed a second transfer in less than a week when Earnest Ross, Auburn’s leading scorer and rebounder last season, told Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com that’ll head to Mizzou.

“It’s the best fit for me,” Ross told CBSSports.com. “It’s a family atmosphere, the fans are crazy and they really treated both me and my mother like a part of the family.”

Ross, a 6-5 win who averaged 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds for Auburn will have to sit out a season before becoming eligible to play the 2012-13 season.

He reportedly was also considering Marquette, West Virginia, Texas Tech and Clemson, but ultimately settled on Missouri for the chance to get on the court right away. The Tigers will lose at six players after this season.

“I think I can make an immediate impact here and can also get national exposure,” he told Goodman.

Ross joins former Louisville forward George Goode as a Missouri transfer. Goode, a Missouri native, made his choice last week, though he’ll be eligible to play next season because he’s already earned his college degree.

Mizzou coach Frank Haith may not be done adding guys, either. Former Pepperdine guard Keion Bell and ex-UConn wing Jamal Coombs-McDaniel both have the Tigers on their shortlists.
