Seemingly everyone in Bloomington, Ind., is searching for missing Indiana student Laurence Spierer. This includes Hoosiers coach Tom Crean.
Crean and assistant Steve McClain were among the volunteers helping local law enforcement and FBI conduct three searches a day for Spierer, who’s been missing since Friday. Officials suspect “foul play” was involved.
That’s been more than enough to motivate Crean, who has three children ages 6 to 16. McClain has a 10-year-old son.
“I don’t think my wife and I are any different than anyone else,” Crean told Jeff Goodman. “We started to follow it in earnest Sunday night and we just wanted to do whatever we could to help.”
That included meeting at the apartment complex in Bloomington where Spierer was last seen. It’s also where many of his Hoosiers live.
He also took to Twitter for the first time regarding Spierer, asking his 37,000 followers to circulate any news or tidbits they might have regarding the disappearance.
“Think of her two parents,” he tweeted. “Can any of use imagine?”
