UPDATE, 9:10 p.m. ET: According to reports from Jeff Goodman and Gary Parrish, Turgeon accepted the job late Monday night.

6:46 p.m. ET: Maryland didn’t waste much time turning to another coaching candidate.

Roughly 36 hours after Arizona’s Sean Miller rebuffed the Terps’ offer to replace the retired Gary Williams, Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon has been offered the job, according to multiple reports.

He could make a decision as early as Monday.

Turgeon, 46, is 97-50 in four seasons with the Aggies and has reached the NCAA tournament in each of those seasons. He’s also coached at Wichita State and Jacksonville State and is 250-159 overall.
