Southern, SWAC, WCC all recruited better than MWC?

OK, so you know about the 5-star recruits coming into Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina, among others.

But enough about the big-name schools. You need to know about who’ll be the impact player in your conference, right? Well, Justin Young has you covered.

He broke down the top recruits by every D-I conference on his blog, The National Hoops Report.

OK, so you’ll run into some familiar names – get used to hearing Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis mentioned a lot in 2011-12 – but it’s a helpful list given the breadth of information and with some of the surprises on it.

For instance, the Mountain West doesn’t have any recruit rated higher than 78th overall (. The Southern, West Coast and SWAC all have better guys coming in.

Butler has the top-rated prospect in the Horizon, but UNC Wilmington has the top incoming player in the CAA? What did Shaka Smart and Jim Larranaga do this season?

Perhaps most impressive is that Oregon has the Pac-10’s top incoming player in shooting guard Jabari Brown. Yes, Oregon. Not UCLA, Arizona or Washington.
