UConn’s Coombs-McDaniel arrested on drug charges

Connecticut sophomore Jamal Coombs-McDaniel was arrested Thursday night on a marijuana charge and possessions of drug paraphernalia. Police say he was arrested along with two other people and that there were 5.6 grams of the drug.

From the AP:

According to the police report, Coombs-McDaniel was picked up just before 11:30 p.m. at the Merritt Hall dormitory on the Storrs campus. He was one of 11 people arrested during the first night of Spring Weekend, an annual weekend of campus parties before final exams.

Coombs-McDaniel, a 6-7 wing, played in all 41 of UConn’s games last season. He averaged 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds a game. He’s expected to vie for a starting position next season.
