Jimmer Fredette’s award season continued Sunday. Only one left.
BYU’s senior guard won the Naismith Trophy, making him five-for-five in postseason honors. The nation’s leading scorer also has won the Oscar Robertson Trophy, the Associated Press Player of the Year award, the Adolph Rupp Award, Naismith and the NABC honor. That leaves the Wooden Award, which will be given out Friday.
Win that, and he’ll be the consensus player of the year.
Fredette’s 28.9 scoring average was tops in D-I. He led BYU to a 32-5 record, best in school history, and a spot in the Sweet 16, the first for the Cougars since 1981.
