Stevens says Butler maintained ‘a sense of normalcy’ this week

Everyone wants a piece of the Final Four teams right now. Media, fans, alumni, everyone.

But Butler has an advantage in this regard. It went through all this last year, so everything’s not so overwhelming. Coach Brad Stevens explained as much on the Dan Patrick Show today:

“Where it helps is in your week of preparation. I’ve been able to close my door and watch film. I’ve been able to spend time with my family,” he said.

“Our guys have been able to manage the media requests and everything else in such a way that they’re still students first. It’s a hard thing to do. .. My biggest thing for this week was to have a sense of normalcy, and really get caught up in everything you’re doing before you leave for Houston.”

Stevens also talked about how fortunate the Bulldogs felt simply to be in the Final Four. They’ve won games by two points, one point, seven points and three points.

If that doesn’t make you feel lucky to be playing, nothing does.
