Butler defied massive odds to reach the Final Four for the second straight year. That’s not only remarkable, it’s an historic NCAA tournament achievement.
The Bulldogs are the first school outside one of the big six conferences (ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10 and SEC) to reach back-to-back Final Fours since UNLV in ’90 and ’91. And they’re not trotting out several future NBA pros like the Rebels did.
So I’m curious. Which Butler run has surprised you more? Last year’s team that was a 5 seed and posted an unbeaten conference record (but did break through the proverbial BCS wall) or this year’s squad that struggled in conference play and grabbed an 8 seed, yet still reached the Big Dance’s final weekend?
