Ohio State’s best is better than any other team’s best

What is there to say here?

Ohio State, when it is clicking, is the most dangerous team in the country. George Mason learned that the hard way, losing 98-66.

They proved it tonight. The Buckeyes shot 61.0% from the floor and 16/26 from three, which is good for a 74.6% eFG (an absurd number). The Buckeyes scored an average of 1.47 PPP. David Lighty had 25 points, hitting all seven of his threes. William Buford and Jon Diebler combined for 31 points and eight threes. Jared Sullinger had 18 points and nine boards. Aaron Craft finished with 15 assists and just two turnovers.

I know this game was against George Mason. I also know that some will write it off as the Buckeyes taking advantage of an overwhelmed CAA team. But don’t fall into that trap. George Mason is a good basketball team. They deserved their seed.

This was Ohio State reaffirming that they are the best team in the country.

All things equal, when Ohio State is playing their best basketball, there is no one in the country that can beat them.

But that shouldn’t surprise you. We’ve been saying that since the Buckeyes beat Wisconsin 93-65 on the final day of the regular season.
