Another coaching vacancy opened up Wednesday. And another may soon be on the way.
Providence will reportedly part ways with coach Keno Davis soon, according to the Providence Journal. Davis, in his third year at the school, is 46-50 at the school and 19-39 against Big East play. He has five years remaining on his contract, but the school isn’t optimistic about its future under Davis.
From the paper:Contacted Wednesday in New York, athletic director Bob Driscoll said he had fund-raising and athletic-director obligations to take care of over the next few days at the Big East Tournament “but I’ll be back in town over the weekend and we’ll have the opportunity to talk to Keno then.”
Driscoll refused comment when asked if the school has made a final decision on Davis’ future as coach.
Meanwhile, Manhattan fired coach Barry Rohrssen after five seasons.
The Jaspers were 6-25 this season, capping a 58-95 overall record. His best record was a 16-14 mark in 2008-09. He had one year remaining on his contract.
