LSU vice chancellor Joe Alleva and WCC commissioner Jamie Zaninovich are lucky.
Starting in 2012, they’ll spend the second week of March holed up in the Westin Indianapolis hotel, talking hoops and helping to determine the NCAA tournament field.
Then, they’ll hear catcalls from media and fans about what a poor job they did. Yay!
The NCAA announced the newest members of its men’s basketball committee Monday, putting Alleva and Zaninovich in the spotlight for a time. They’ll replace Ohio State AD Gene Smith and UC-Riverside AD Stanley Morrison, whose five-year terms end in March.
Who else is part of the job? Here’s your list.
Lynn Hickey, the director of athletics at Texas-San Antonio; Mike Bobinski, the director of athletics at Xavier; Dan Beebe, the commissioner of the Big 12 Conference; Doug Fullerton, the commissioner of the Big Sky Conference; Ron Wellman, the director of athletics at Wake Forest; Scott Barnes, the director of athletics at Utah State; and Steve Orsini, the director of athletics at SMU.
