Hokies have even less wiggle room now

Virginia Tech’s thin bench may now be anorexic.

Hokies freshman Jarell Eddie was charged last Tuesday for possession of marijuana, the Washington Post reported Sunday. Eddie isn’t slated to appear in court until April 21.

He didn’t play during Saturday’s loss at Virginia, which coach Seth Greenberg called a “coach’s decision.”

The forward averages just 2.6 points and 2 rebounds a game. His absence shouldn’t affect the Hokies (17-8, 7-5) too much in their quest to return to the NCAA tournament given that all five starters play most of the minutes and are responsible for nearly 90 percent of the team’s production.
