Alabama’s Grant heads our list of up-and-coming coaches

As Alabama continues to expand its SEC West lead – tonight’s game against LSU shouldn’t be a serious challenge – expect to hear more and more about Anthony Grant as the next great coach.

But what if he already is?

In just his second season, Grant, 44, has turned the Tide into a hoops entity, something rarely seen in, well, forever. He thrived as the head coach at VCU, thrived as Billy Donovan’s lead assistant at Florida, and now he’s doing the same at ‘Bama.

It’s a performance that should cause the rest of the nation – or at least the schools with opening coming up – take notice, as Ken Davis writes in his weekly column.

BONUS! If Grant isn’t on your team’s radar, perhaps one of the nine guys listed below are. Ken has a complete breakdown of their qualifications here.
