Life on the road hasn’t been kind to Kentucky lately. Home will be a different story.
When the Wildcats (17-7, 5-5) play host to Mississippi State Tuesday, they’ll play in front of 23,000 fans. Small wonder they’re favored by 20 points. That’s right, 20 points.
And it may not even be that close. (7 p.m., ESPN)

Michigan State at Ohio State, 9 p.m. (ESPN): Who knew the Spartans (14-10, 6-6) would be the ones entering this game coming off a win? A win against No. 2 Ohio State (24-1, 11-1) would be cause for celebration in East Lansing, but the odds of it happening are slim. Especially with Delvon Roe likely out.
George Mason at VCU, 7 p.m. (ESPNU): The Patriots (21-5, 13-2) still aren’t ranked, though it’s not for a lack of winning (11 straight) or off-court appeal. If they win at VCU (20-7, 12-3), voters will be out of excuses. And college hoops powers will be hoping to avoid the Pats in March.
St. John’s at Marquette, 9 p.m. (ESPNU): The Johnnies (15-9, 7-5) finally won another Big East road game. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles (15-10, 6-6) might be the unluckiest team in the nation, in part because of their brutal schedule. My wish? That both teams go dancing.
Maryland at Virginia Tech, 8 p.m. (ESPN3): The Hokies drilled the Terps in their last matchup. If the team split the season series, it’ll go a long way to helping the ACC get five teams in the Big Dance. But Maryland has to slow down the Va Tech starters first.
Butler at Wisconsin Green Bay, 7 p.m. (ESPN3): The Bulldogs (18-9, 10-5) have won four straight and remain in striking distance of Horizon Conference leaders Valpo. Winning the regular season title won’t guarantee them a spot in the NCAA tournament, but it certainly won’t hurt.
Villanova at Seton Hall, 8 p.m. (ESPN3): The Wildcats (19-6, 7-5) have lost two straight and five of their last eight. Those who think a win at Seton Hall is automatic should probably read this.
