Washington sex assault case not going away

Three weeks after a report first surfaced about a Washington basketball player being under investigation for sexual assaulting a 16-year-old girl, the case will be reviewed by the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports the player has not been arrested or charged, and that the Prosecutor’s Office doesn’t have a charging deadline.

Huskies coach Lorenzo Romar hasn’t discussed the case except to acknowledge that the team and school is aware of the incident.

“However, there is not nearly enough information at this point for us to determine what’s going to be done here,” Romar said Jan. 11. “Right now, we just have to give a little more time to decide what’s going to come of this. Beyond that, I’m not going to say much more about it.”
