Tuesday’s slate and what to watch

Kansas hasn’t lost back-to-back Big 12 games since 2006. It hasn’t lost to Colorado since 2003. Both streaks could be tested Tuesday night.

The Buffs (14-6) feature two NBA-caliber players in Alec Burks and Cory Higgins and an offense that must be feared. Plus, the Jayhawks won’t have sophomore forward Thomas Robinson, who’ll be in Washington D.C., mourning the death of his mother.

Then again, there’s this: Kansas (18-1) is better, motivated after its first and is catching a Buffs team that’s lost two straight. I’ll be interested to see how they start after a trying few days. (8 p.m., ESPN3).

(All times ET)

Purdue at Ohio State, 9 p.m. (ESPN): I’m on record as picking San Diego State as the last unbeaten team. That’s partly because the Aztecs are damn good and partly because the Buckeyes had a nasty one-two punch of Illinois and Purdue in four days. OSU survived the Illini and must now navigate that nasty Purdue defense. If the Buckeyes get to 21-0, they may not lose until mid-Feb.

Connecticut at Marquette, 9 p.m. (ESPN3): The only team to beat the Eagles at home this season? Wisconsin. Even if Jim Calhoun shouldn’t let his good mod sour with a loss. Winning at the Bradley Center ain’t easy.

Florida at Georgia, 7 p.m. (ESPN): The Gators (15-4) returned to the polls this week, but a trip to Georgia might make that trip a short one. If Kentucky can’t win in Athens, it might be asking a bit much for Florida.

Richmond at Dayton, 7 p.m. (ESPNU): Duquesne and Xavier are atop the A-10, but Richmond and Dayton are right behind. With a little luck, the winner might have a shot at the NCAA tournament, too.
