Baylor at Kansas State, 9 p.m. (ESPN): There’s a conference comparison for this one: Virginia Tech-Maryland. A couple of underwhelming teams who dearly need a win to boost their NCAA tournament credibility face off in Manhattan. The loser gets to sweat from now until March.
Notre Dame at Pittsburgh, 7 p.m. (ESPN): Another stellar Monday matchup in Pittsburgh gives the Panthers a chance to showcase their delightful offense (Matt Norlander says their sets are a thing of beauty) and stretch their Big East over Villanova to 2½ games. Anything to get Jamie Dixon closer to that league crown.
James Madison at Hofstra, 7 p.m. (ESPN3): There’s probably an optimum number of Charles Jenkins stories a site should have in one week, but whatever the number is, it’s not enough. (Want another great read? Try here.) Anyway, now’s your chance to see Jenkins play. Thank you, ESPN3.
