Standhardinger will not attend La Salle due to an unfortunate charge

Back in August, Luke Winn of SI.com made a list of sophomores that he expected to have break out performances this season. He led off the list with a name most of us probably over looked -- Christian Standhardinger of Nebraska.

I doubt this is the kind of performance that Winn expected.

Standhardinger ended up leaving Nebraska. He was expected to enroll at La Salle, but he blew that chance.

“Christian has recently been made aware of a personal situation that demands his full attention,” La Salle coach John Giannini said in a statement. “We believe it is in the best interest of all parties that Christian Standhardinger does not attend La Salle University.”

Well, that didn’t last long.

Why?

Because Christian did.

Lincoln police reportedly found Standhardinger shirtless and with his pants down while seated in the passenger seat of a parked car at 3:40 a.m. Sunday inside Tierra Park. He was accompanied by a 19-year-old female, also reportedly shirtless.

Both Standhardinger, 21, and his companion were ticketed on suspicion of public indecency and entering a park after hours. Lincoln city parks are closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The story in and of itself is hilarious. But it gets better. Take a look at his last name, and read it out phonetically.

Stand. Hard. Dinger.

You can’t make this stiff ... err, stuff up.
