Tuesday’s slate and what to watch

Kemba Walker impressed hoops nation Monday with last-second heroics. Now it’s Jimmer Fredette’s turn.

The last time BYU’s star guard played the Horned Frogs, he went for 45 points (23 of 24 from the FT line) and dished six assists. Back-to-back games with at least 40 points? I’d say that qualifies as one-upping Kemba. (10 p.m., The Mountain)

(All times ET)

Michigan State at Illinois, 7 p.m. (ESPN): Spartans (12-5) have beaten Wisconsin and Northwestern in back-to-back OT games. A win at Illinois would mark two things: Their most impressive outing of their season and the start of hoops nation proclaiming Tom Izzo’s team is back. Meanwhile, the Illini (13-5) have lost two straight and have dealt with annoying roster rumors. Can’t wait to watch this one.

Colorado at Nebraska, 7 p.m. (ESPN2): The Big 12’s two most surprising teams (Buffs are 14-4, ‘Huskers 13-4) also aren’t long for the league. Odds you ever see this matchup on ESPN again? 1,000,000-1.

Georgetown at Seton Hall, 7 p.m. (ESPN3): Hoyas (13-5) ended a three-game skid with a win at Rutgers. Winning at the Hall is no gimme. Not with that defense. Another Georgetown loss would sound the alarms in DC. (Again.)

Clemson at North Carolina, 8 p.m. (ESPN3): Was Sunday’s 78-58 loss to G.T. the worst of the Roy Williams’ era? Doesn’t matter now. Not with Clemson (13-4) taking its eight-game win streak into the Dean Dome.

Kentucky at Alabama, 9 p.m. (ESPN): John Calipari isn’t sure he wants Terrence Jones starting. For that matter, he’s not too pleased with Brandon Knight either. Good omen for ‘Bama? Hardly. Calipari’s in the middle of his motivation time.
