A win for Big Ten ‘basketball’ fans!

Line of the day comes from Dan Hanner of Yet Another Basketball Blog.

His “Life is Good” post contains a rather Peter King-esque list of topics and asides, but one is sheer gold especially for haters of wretchedly slow play. (Rest assured, that’s the Big Ten.)

He lauds new Iowa coach Fran McCaffery for revving the Hawkeyes’ offense – 3-pointers in transition! – and takes aim at the rest of the conference teams who remain slow.

Aside #1: The Big Ten is now down to four coaches who hate college basketball. (I.e. prefer brutally slow-paced games.) That list includes Bo Ryan, Ed DeChellis, Bill Carmody, and John Beliein. Bo Ryan isn’t going anywhere, and I can’t blame Penn St. for trying to shorten the game. But the Big Ten only needs one Princeton-style offense.

Hanner then lauds JaJuan Johnson. Great minds, Dan. Great minds.
