Crunch time for Missouri getting Tony Mitchell this season

The NCAA ruled Tony Mitchell ineligible because of his high school grades. The school’s reportedly appealing that ruling, but no one at the school is talking about it.

Might be that way for a while.

As Mike DeArmond of the Kansas City Star notes, two key dates are approaching for the would-be Missouri freshman: Jan. 18 and Jan. 25. The first is the start of second semester, the second is the deadline for dropping or adding classes for that semester.

For Mitchell to play this season, the NCAA would need to rule by the 25th at the latest. If not, Mitchell’s not playing this season – and Missouri is left waiting to find out when, if ever, Mitchell can enroll.

Yeah. It’s a big mess. I wouldn’t count on seeing Mitchell in a Tigers uniform this season.
