Monday’s slate and what to watch

Oregon and Auburn are hi-jacking Big Monday. Guess there’s not much to be done about it. Even Paul Westhead approves.

However, there is good news. You can get in a hoops game before kickoff.

Notre Dame at Marquette, 7 p.m. ET (ESPN2): The Irish are downright nasty at home. The road? Not so much. There isn’t much of a sample size this season, but that’s where those two losses have come in. (Well, one was at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville vs. Kentucky. Still.) Marquette, on the other hand, is once again an under-the-radar good team and also a tough, tough nugget at home. Not sure the Irish are taking this one.

Jacksonville at Belmont, 8:15 p.m.: And so begins Rick Byrd’s quest for win No. 501.
