Reader mailbag: Does the Big East rule them all?

spt-110106-notre-dame_320w

The latest reader mailbag from Ken Davis opens with a question – best conference in the country – that’s quickly becoming redundant.

Can anyone touch the Big East?

Ken says it’s because schools such as St. John’s are surprisingly good, while upperclassmen like Brad Wanamaker, Marshon Brooks and Rick Jackson have stepped up their games. The Sagarin rankings also have the Big East at No. 1.

One computer ranking isn’t as sold. Kenpom.com has the Big Ten rated No. 1, followed closely by the Big East and the Big 12.

But let’s March settle this, shall we? This isn’t college football.

Also to be found in Ken’s mailbag: Can anyone challenge Duke; is anyone a better scorer than LaceDarius Dunn; and why isn’t Drexel allowed to be in the Big Five?

And, as always, if you’d like to submit a question, click here.
