Ah, the arrival of tempo-free player stats

One tweet late last night caused all sorts of celebration among college hoopheads. Who knew we were all so starved for player stats? That’s how it goes with Ken Pomeroy’s player stats.

Of note:

Arizona’s Derrick Williams leads the nation in offensive rating (140.6), just ahead of UConn’s Kemba Walker. He’s also among the leaders in eFG%, TS%, OR%, FD/40 and FTRate. No wonder he’s getting early pub for player of the year.

Miami’s Reggie Johnson is the top offensive rebounder, while Kansas’ Markieff Morris leads the defensive rebounders. As expected, Kenneth Faried is the best at both.

Steve Holt (Steve Holt!) tops in steals (nice find, Rush the Court), while Northwestern State’s William Mosley is dominating block percentage.

But my favorite? Texas southern’s Kevin Galloway has played 98.6 percent of his team’s available minutes thus far. Dude, Kevin. Take a breather.
