Best big-time matchup: Arizona State at Baylor (ESPN2)
The Sun Devils could be one of the Pac-10’s three best teams. Or they could be an underwhelming squad without a whole lot of athletes. We’ll find out when they travel to Waco to face one of the game’s most athletic teams. The Bears (5-0) are still working out the offensive kinks, but the defense is solid.
Marquee game to avoid: UCLA at Kansas (ESPN2)
If the Jayhawks don’t win by double digits, something’s wrong. The Bruins are in full rebuild mode and Kansas hasn’t lost at home in forever.
Small-school treat: Davidson at College of Charleston
Bob McKillop’s Wildcats should vie for the Southern Conference crown, but CofC will have a lot to say about it. (As will Wofford.) This is the way to kick off a conference slate.
