See that? It’s the Rebel Land Shark, one of three possible mascots for Ole Miss, which is in the final stages of finally replacing Colonel Rebel.
And I hope it wins.
Not because it’s better than the Rebel Black Bear or Rebel Hotty Toddy (they can be seen here), but because a Land Shark mascot would open up endless showings of the classic SNL landshark skit. Sure, the skit might get old and others may think having a Land Shark as a mascot is ridiculous.
What can I say? I’m a sucker for classic SNL.
Maybe Chevy Chase can wear the mascot costume at the initial unveiling...
