The Sypher extortion trial seemingly has an endless supply of random witness testimony. Maybe they should bring back Court TV before it’s too late.
Tim Sypher, Karen Cunagin Sypher’s ex-husband, took the stand Friday and was cross-examined by the defense. But it wasn’t his testimony that took the bizarro title. That went to Dana Kolter, Karen Sypher’s former attorney.
Kolter detailed a relationship with Sypher that progressed from a professional to one that involved sex on a regular basis. Over a period of years, it was more than “strictly business.” Kolter’s testimony and various photographs support his claim, which would seemingly boost the government’s case because it would show that Sypher lied to the FBI about her relationship with Kolter.
That’s the gist. There are plenty more details - many of which are fairly explicit - in Matt Jones’ recap here. I’m sure there’ll be more on Monday when the defense cross-examines Kolter.
