Washington’s Thomas takes aim at Kentucky

Washington fans aren’t the only ones miffed about losing highly touted recruit to Kentucky.
Isaiah Thomas makes it clear he wants a piece of the Wildcats at the Maui Invitational.

“I hope we play KENTUCKY nxt yr n the Maui classic,” Thomas tweeted. “All I gotta say is ITS BOUT TO GO DOWN ... A BARK over a meow ne day.”

Gotta love the guy who isn’t afraid to talk some Twitter trash. Well, I love it. I’m sure Huskies coaches feel the same way, but probably wish Thomas hadn’t aired his grievances in public. Lucky for us ... what’s that? There’s more?

For that, we can thank Jeff Eisenberg from The Dagger, who compiled Thomas’ tweets from Thursday.

  • On the possibility of facing Kentucky incoming freshman point guard Brandon Knight: “been there KILLD that lol.”
  • On Big Blue Nation: “That jus sounds so weird to me. who wants to be BIG and BLUE? Like the avatar? Or the blue dudes that use to be n those commercials lol??”
  • On John Calipari’s future at Kentucky: “To be honest BIG BLUE NATION I really don’t think ur coach is coming back!! ... My coach is here 4 10 more YRS hahaha yessssss.”

(To add to Washington’s woes, not having Jones on the roster could hurt their chances to land local star Tony Wroten.)

Of course, Jones didn’t start this. When Turkish big man Enes Kanter changed his commitment from Washington to Kentucky in February, it opened a wound with Huskies fans. Jones simply opened it more. And now we have a chance to watch the two teams play.

Maui in November? As if anyone needed another reason to visit Hawaii in late fall.

Mike Miller’s also on Twitter, usually talkin’ hoops. Click here for more.
