Northwestern lands commitment from key grad transfer

Northwestern landed a commitment on Monday from a key grad transfer, as Ryan Taylor announced that he will be enrolling with the Wildcats.

Northwestern is coming off of a dreadful 2017-18 season, one in which the Wildcats went from being a preseason top 20 team to totally off the national radar within the first two weeks of the season. And with Scottie Lindsay and Bryant McIntosh graduating, Northwestern was losing two of their top three scorers as well.

Enter Ryan Taylor. The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 21.3 points this past season as a redshirt junior, his second year with Evansville. He spent his freshman season at Ohio before transferring out of the program.

“The connection I made with Chris Collins and the staff was huge,” Taylor told ESPN. “And it seems like they are really hungry, especially after what happened last year.”
