Georgetown senior guard Rodney Pryor captured the dunk contest championship at the College Slam on Thursday night at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.

He defeated A.J. Merriweather of East Tennessee State in the finals. Merriweather had perfect scores through the first three rounds. However, he brought out Reggie Upshaw of Middle Tennessee for the final round, and the theatrics surrounding it seemed to throw him off.

Other participants included Vitto Brown of Wisconsin, Antonius Cleveland of Southeast Missouri State, Steven Davis of Wright State, Tyler Flack of South Dakota, Garland Owens of Boston College, and Paul Watson of Fresno State.

Iowa guard Peter Jok won 3-point shootout.
