Freshman Keith Baxter knocked down a heavily-contested three-pointer at the buzzer on Saturday to lift St. Francis (PA) to a, 71-70, Northeast Conference Tournament semifinal win over host Wagner.
Trailing, 70-68, with 7.3 seconds left, the Red Flash went the length of the floor as Jamaal King found Baxter for the game-winner.
St. Francis, the No. 4 seed in the NEC tournament, will have to wait to see who they play for the NCAA tournament autobid on Tuesday as they await the winner of No. 1 seed Mount St. Mary’s and No. 7 seed Robert Morris.
