LOSERS

Clemson (RPI: 60, KenPom: 38, first four out): The Tigers lost another heartbreaker in the ACC, falling by a point -- the third time this season they’ve lost by a single point -- at Virginia Tech, and by now they probably need to win their last three regular season games and do some work in the ACC tournament to have a real chance of getting into the tournament on Selection Sunday. We went deeper on Clemson’s bubble status here.

Georgia Tech (RPI: 73, KenPom: 79, play-in game): As if things weren’t already tough enough for the Yellow Jackets, they went out and lost on Tuesday night at home to an N.C. State team that fired their coach a week ago. for a team whose bubble standing was built on the idea that they had a lot of losses but no real bad losses, this is a ... bad loss. We went deeper into the Yellow Jackets here.

WINNERS

No. 25 Wichita State (RPI: 45, KenPom: 13, No. 10 seed): The Shockers mollywhopped Evansville. All you need to know about their tournament chances is detailed extensively here.

Virginia Tech (RPI: 35, KenPom: 46, No. 8 seed): After beating Clemson at home on Tuesday night, the Hokies are on the verge of locking up a bid. I don’t think that they can lose out and feel comfortable, but I also don’t think that they’re going to lose out.

Dayton (RPI: 27, KenPom: 33, No. 8 seed): The Flyers are basically in the same spot as the Hokies after beating George Mason on Tuesday. The one concern? They are at Davidson, host VCU and play at George Washington to close out their season. That’s not going to be an easy stretch, but so long as Dayton avoids losing all three, they should be fine.

Marquette (RPI: 72, KenPom: 35, play-in game): The Golden Eagles smoked St. John’s at home, which they needed to do. Now comes the tough part: Their final three games are at Providence, at Xavier and Creighton at home. They probably need to win two of those.
