An hour before Stanford was set to take on No. 25 USC, the program announced that forward Reid Travis was out indefinitely with a right shoulder injury.
The 6-foot-8 junior is leading the Cardinal with 17.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. He missed the final 22 games of last season due to a leg injury. Stanford was 5-3 when Travis was sidelined and finished the year 15-15 (8-10 Pac-12).
Stanford, in its first season under head coach Jerod Haase, is 8-6 on the season after dropping its first two conference games at home to Arizona State and Arizona. It doesn’t get any easier, especially without its star forward, traveling to Westwood to take on No. 4 UCLA on Sunday following Thursday’s meeting with the Trojans.
