Rhode Island’s Jarvis Garrett leaves Cincinnati game on a stretcher

Rhode Island junior guard Jarvis Garrett left the first half of the game against Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon on a stretcher after an ugly fall. He drove to the basket and, as he landed, the back of his head slammed against a cameraman’s knee.

The 6-foot-0 guard hit his head and was taken off wearing a neck brace and sitting up as he was responsive. Garrett was transported to Backus Hospital, a Rhode Island spokesman told NBCSports.com.

Players from both sides came over to wish Garrett well as the whole Rhode Island bench came and saw him before he left the floor. Hopefully Garrett is okay and nothing is seriously wrong with his head. The Rams have a top-25 caliber team and Garrett is a key piece who can do a number of different things at guard.
