Sean Miller recorded an assist on Friday night. Unofficially, it’s his first since 1992.

The Arizona head coach was used as a prop during the team’s dunk contest. Rawle Alkins, a 6-foot-4, five-star freshman, had Miller hold the ball over his head as he jump over his coach for a reverse dunk.

Alkins certainly doesn’t lack confidence. He went on to score 15 points in the annual Red-Blue Scrimmage. The Red team bested the Blue, 53-49. Dusan Ristic and Allonzo Trier each scored 16 points for the Red squad, while Kadeem Allen and newcomer Lauri Markkanen each scored 14 points in a losing effort. Ray Smith, a prized recruit from the Class of 2015, made his debut after missing all of last season with his second ACL tear.

Arizona, a fringe top-10 team this preseason, begins the 2016-17 campaign on November 11 against Michigan State in the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu.
