USC gets high-scoring three-star Class of 2017 forward

USC picked up its first Class of 2017 commitment on Monday as three-star forward Jordan Usher pledged to the Trojans.

The 6-foot-7 Usher was one of the better scorers in the adidas Gauntlet this spring and summer. A combo forward who can space the floor out to the perimeter, Usher averaged 26.4 points per game for the Atlanta Celtics as he shot 33 percent from three-point range.

A native of Marietta, Georgia who attends Wheeler High School, Usher gives USC another scorer who can come in and produce right away. With Usher’s size and the way the college game continues to go with smaller lineups, it’ll be interesting to see how the Trojans plan to use him at the next level. Usher can either be used as a wing or a stretch four depending on how USC wants to play.
