The NCAA has granted a waiver to Jalan West giving him a sixth-year of eligibility.

West was a fifth-year senior at Northwestern State last year, but his season came to a close after just one game thanks to a torn ACL. As a junior is 2014-15, he averaged 20 points, 7.7 assists and 2.1 steals as one of the nation’s best point guards, regardless of where he played his college ball.

The Demons finished just 8-20 overall and 5-13 in the Southland without West, which should give you a pretty good idea of just how valuable West is. The good news, however, is that NSU also returns four double-digit scorers, including Zeke Woodley, who averaged more than 22 points as a junior this past season.
