Mark Price has withdrawn his name from consideration as a potential replacement from Brian Gregory at Georgia Tech.

Gregory and Tech parted way on Friday afternoon. Price, who is a Georgia Tech alum and currently the head coach at Charlotte, was immediately mentioned as a potential replacement.

“I wish my alma mater Georgia Tech well in its search for a new head coach,” Price said in a statement. “I am committed to the Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball program. I am excited and very encouraged by the progress that we made this past season. We are very appreciative of the great support that our program has received from the University, the athletic department, the community, and the fans of Niner Nation.”

“I am excited about the players that we have returning to our team and the progress that they made this past season. I am also excited about the players that we are adding to our team and what they will provide for our program moving forward. I feel that the future is bright as we continue to build something special here at Charlotte.”

Price went 14-19 at Charlotte this season, finishing 9-9 in Conference USA.
