Oregon looked impressive in its 2016 NCAA tournament opener as the Ducks ran away with a 91-52 victory over No. 16 seed Holy Cross in the West Region in Anaheim.

The Ducks looked every bit like a No. 1 seed with a balanced effort. Chris Boucher had 20 points and five rebounds to lead Oregon while Dwayne Benjamin had 12 points. Dillon Brooks and Elgin Cook had 11 points each as well for Oregon, as they shot 55 percent (34-for-61) from the field.

Holy Cross (15-20) made a fun run that included four wins in the Patriot League tournament and a win over Southern in the First Four game in Dayton. They were led by 22 points from Robert Champion while Malachi Alexander finished with 10 points.

Oregon (29-6) has now won a game in the NCAA tournament in four straight years as they’ll play either No. 8 seed Saint Joseph’s or No. 9 seed Cincinnati on Sunday in Anaheim in the West Region.
