SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) California point guard Tyrone Wallace injured his right hand in practice two days before the Golden Bears were set to open play in the NCAA Tournament.

A Cal spokesman said Wednesday night that Wallace is being evaluated and that more information will be available Thursday. The 23rd-ranked Bears (23-10) take on Hawaii in the first round of the tournament on Friday in Spokane.

Wallace is averaging a team-high 15.3 points and 4.4 assists per game, along with 5.4 rebounds. The senior missed five games earlier this season with a broken right hand.

Wallace is coming off one of his best games of the season when he scored 26 points in a loss to Utah in the Pac-12 semifinals last week.
