Damon Stoudamire has agreed to be the next head coach at Pacific.

Currently an assistant on the Memphis coaching staff, Stoudamire is a former NBA Rookie of the Year that spent 13 seasons playing in the NBA.

He’s been an assistant with both Memphis basketball teams -- the Grizzlies and the Tigers -- as well as the Arizona Wildcats, where he spent four seasons playing for Lute Olson.

Stoudamire will replace Ron Verlin at Pacific, who left the program during the season due to an NCAA investigation into the program.

This will be Stoudamire’s first head coaching gig. He becomes the fifth member of Josh Pastner’s staff to become a head coach.
