Dominic Artis and Damyean Dotson are suing Oregon over their expulsion from the university, a punishment that stemmed from an investigation into a sexual assault allegation that was levied by a female student.

Artis, Dotson and Brandon Austin were named in a police report in May of 2014 that alleged they assaulted the woman at an off-campus party and back at their apartment two months earlier. They were dismissed from the team and kicked out of school.

The lawyer for Artis and Dotson told ESPN that the process that resulted in their dismissal was “problematic” and that the players were “victimized”. The players are suing for more than $10 million. The victim received $800,000 in a settlement with the school.

Artis played this past season at UTEP, averaging 11.7 points, while Dotson posted 13.9 points at Houston.
