Donnie Jones has been fired as the head coach at UCF, a source confirmed to NBCSports.com.

Jones just finished his sixth season as head coach of the Golden Knights. In three seasons in Conference USA, Jones led UCF to 20 wins each year. But since their move to the American, he failed to win more than 13 games and finished better than eighth in the league.

Jones took the UCF job after spending three seasons as the head coach at Marshall.

UCF AD Danny White has been on the job for four months and already has had to replace the football coach.
