Marquette grabs four-star Class of 2016 small forward

Marquette landed a major piece to its 2016 recruiting efforts on Tuesday night as a source confirmed with NBCSports.com that four-star forward Brendan Bailey has pledged to the Golden Eagles.

Regarded as the No. 48 overall prospect in the Class of 2016, the 6-foot-7 Bailey hails from Utah and is the son of former NBA center Thurl Bailey. An advanced scorer who thrives in the mid-range, Bailey can also hit perimeter jumpers or get to the basketball and scoring is definitely his calling card.

The Golden Eagles now have two Class of 2016 wings in the fold as Bailey joins in-state, three-star wing Sam Hauser. The duo of Hauser and Bailey is going to be interesting to monitor because both players are versatile enough to play some different spots on the floor and both can score.

A former Arizona State commit, Bailey intends to take a two-year Mormon mission following high school and the current plan is for him to enroll at Marquette in the fall of 2018.
