Wichita State has landed their first commitment in the Class of 2016 as C.J. Keyser pledged to the Shockers, NBCSports.com has confirmed.

Keyser is an uber-athletic, three-star prospect from Maryland that spent last season at Sunrise Christan (KS) before reclassifying and prepping this season at Brewster Academy (NH). Prior to reclassifying, Keyser was committed to Colorado State.

The 6-foot-4 wing projects as an excellent defender at the next level, but he’s still learning the game offensively. Keyser was recruited to be the next Tekele Cotton for the Shockers.

The Shockers beat the likes of Utah and Tulsa for Keyser’s commitment.

In June, former Sunrise Christan coach Kyle Lindsted was hired as an assistant by Marshall.
