Roy Marble passed away on Friday after a battling cancer for the past year. He was 48 years old.

Marble is one of the greatest players in the history of Iowa basketball. He is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,116 career points. In each of his four seasons (1986-89), the Hawkeyes reached the NCAA tournament.

Marble’s son, Roy Deyvn, was a recent star for Iowa, earning first team all-Big Ten honors after averaging 17.0 points per game during the 2013-14 season. He’s currently a member of the Orlando Magic.
