Jayson Tatum to commit to a school in the next two weeks?

The pursuit of Jayson Tatum, one of the consensus top three players int he Class of 2016, seems to be winding down.

Tatum, a 6-foot-8 small forward from Saint Louis, will reportedly be making his decision at some point in the next two weeks, during the July’s open period. He is thought to be heavily considering just two schools -- Duke and Saint Louis -- but he told reporters at Nike’s Peach Jam on Thursday that he has not yet eliminated Kentucky or North Carolina.

That’s terrific news for the three blue bloods, and not just because they have a shot to end up getting one of the nation’s smoothest, most talented wing scorers.

Tatum told Sports Illustrated at the U19 event that there is a “pretty strong possibility” that he ends up playing his college ball with Harry Giles, another one of the consensus top three players in the Class of 2016. Giles added, in that same article, that attending the same school is “most definitely what we talk about”.

Giles has not yet laid out a timetable for when he will be making a decision, but Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina are three schools that he is considering as well.

So hey, Saint Louis, you may want to pick up the phone and give Giles a call. Just sayin’.
